Looking at first glance, at the Life Membership Chart costs below you might say, "WOW! They've got to be kidding!" Now, let's look at this example a veteran of 26 years of age and lives to be 80 and with the current Post's annual dues of $25. The dues over his/her lifetime would be $1350.00; with annual dues at $30.00 the lifetime cost is $1620.00. A life membership of $425.00 for this veteran under 30 years old is not so bad. The savings would be $925.00 to $1195.00 in a lifetime.
What about 50 year old veteran who lives to be 75 with the current dues of $25.00 the cost in his/her lifetime would be $625.00 another savings of $250.00.
You pay $35 to enroll and then select whether you would like to spread your payments out over an 11 month or 23 month period. You will be billed on a monthly basis. You will receive a "Provisional Life" membership card at the time of your enrollment. A permanent VFW Life Member card will be mailed when payments are complete. The chart above shows monthly payment rates for the two options by age.
